Make & Take: Upcycled Toy Planter (Ages 6-12)
TUESDAY, JULY 30: 11:00-12:30
Please arrive any time after 10:30, so that we can see tour workroom, get organized, and get comfortable before you drop-off your child.
Do you have a crafty 6-12 year old? Join teacher-librarian and Tiny Toy Co. founder Rebecca Saha for this cool Upcycled Toy Planter make & take.
This is a drop-off workshop in the Kingsway neighbourhood of Toronto (address available on booking.) After a family tour of the workroom, we'll say "goodbye" to parents and learn more about how Tiny Toy Co. is collecting and repurposing toy waste. Then, we'll make one of these adorable, upcycled planters (your choice):
Your will Make & Take either:
- 1 glass terrarium using natural fill materials, 1-3 small plants, and upcycled tiny toys -OR-
- 1 hollow-toy planter: choose from dinosaurs, doll heads, vehicles, and a whole bunch of cool larger toys!
While together, we'll share our ideas and learn about the power kids have to affect change in their own garbage production, for the future of their environment.
Join your camper for a packed lunch in the shady backyard, then stay for the FREE Volunteer Drop-In that afternoon, sorting toys in the Tiny Toy Co. workroom!
Parents and younger children are very welcome to join for lunch and/or volunteering, however adult supervision is required. Learn how family volunteerism can build community, as we tackle our toy waste plastics crisis together.
While here, check out our selection of refurbished and upcycled games, books, toys, and activities in person. You'll save 25% on any purchases made and avoid shipping costs!
WORKSHOP HOURS 10:30-12:00
