Apples to Apples: The Game of Crazy Comparisons!
This is a teacher-recommended, award-winning game that's perfect for families or classrooms, to develop creative thinking and conceptual connection-making skills. Expand vocabulary and thinking skills, and have a hoot doing it!
Alternate Educational Uses:
- The green cards feature adjectives, including definitions! These make a great learning tool for teaching adjectives. Try spelling each adjective, defining it, and it in a sentence!
- Play an adjective-themed game of Snap! by slapping down green adjective cards in the middle of the table, and challenging players to shout out an example of something that is: smelly, peaceful, untamed, enjoyable, etc. First one with an answer wins the card.
- Simple pairs: For a noncompetitive way to play and learn, have students pair up nouns (red cards) and adjectives (green cards) that "go together."
- Writing prompts: have students pick a set number of nouns (red cards) and adjectives (green cards) and use them to write a silly or scary story.
